In this research, a remote shopping robot system was developed. An arm for picking up items from a grocery rack was custom made. The robot is fitted with a shopping basket and SOKUIKI sensor.
Roboken visitors arriving from the nearby bus stop are guided by this robot up to the laboratory. Odometry and a LRF are used for scan-matching. Voice guidance and signal lights are used to give instructions.
A robot with an onboard camera is used in this research. It takes pictures of the objects for surveillance. During its surveillance rounds, it compares stored images with the current images to detect abnormality. The operator is alerted if there is an abnormality.
A general-purpose arm was developed for a small mobile robot. The arm has 4 links, can be as short as 40cm and be as long as 120cm.
The robot system's task is to check inside the mailbox of a certain user to check its contents. A camera attached to the arm is the sensor used.
A robot is controlled to go up and down a staircase. The robot is custom made, with 2 wheels at each side. Each side can be rotated to move up or down steps.
Infrared light is used by the robot to follow a person. The infrared light is attached to the user and captured by a camera on the robot. The robo runs at a speed of 200mm/sec.
